DELAY

Delay is the one of most oldest effect while these days nearly every player/producer/mixer/engineer have had in their gear box. Especially, delay or echo effect seems inspiring Dub engineer and quite a few rack style, pedal style gears are launched.
There is actually many varietions of gear called delay or echo, which apparently create different sound each other, vintage warm sound tape echo, also vintage analog delay, or reissue analog delay, digital delay or simulation delay with latest technology, analog modeling delay, and so on.

Then, the next question you might have when you are looking for one is:

Which one is the best?

Why analog is so precious ? Why everybody likes analog gear?
What is the difference between analog and delay? or even what is the simulation / modeling?
in this web page, I just would like to make complete list of delay gears.
if you are interested, just have a fun with the most clever innvention of the music gear.

Cheers.

What is Dub ?

Dub is the method or style which is inovated by producer/engineer rather than musician himself.
It was actually put maximum creazy sound effects, eventually echo/reverb/delay on the rhythm track, and spread the chopped vocal track every where in the sound scape.

In the 70's, many dub versions of reggae records are cut by producers like great man, King Tubby, followed by Augustus Pablo, and Lee 'Scratch' Perry. Everytime they produced regular A-side, they had recorded dub versions as known as B-side dub version with crazy but creative sound like heavy bass line, any sound with extra reverb, strange noize, and sound with echo which nobody had ever heard before.

Dub and Reggae music have very great influence over music like Jungle, Drum'n Bass, Trip Hop, Dance music, electronic music or even over pop music.
Some dub, raggae producers have remixed the songs of musicians who does not originally play or create reggae music. Mad Profesor is probably the most significant example of this cross over remix work, who has released the remix versions, or "recreated versions" of Massive Attack album "Protection", called "No Protection" Massive Attack vs Mad Profesor.
